I was going through my photos on my laptop the other day and came across some photos from the last time I went to Port Stanley. When I went, the town and beach there was completely empty and abandoned, and it was such a weird experience! I usually go there in the summer when it’s packed with an endless amount of people, but going in April (which was when the following photos were taken) and seeing NO ONE there was almost eerie and ominous. But I did get some nice pictures of the water and sandy beaches! Sometimes it’s nice to just take pictures on your own in an abandoned environment.
My fellow photography friends and I went to the Royal Ontario Museum during a field trip in Toronto. I hadn’t been there since I was a little kid and when I walked in, I literally remembered everything about it and even being there all those years ago. Seeing certain exhibits brought back childhood memories that I had totally forgotten about! I was super excited to see the dinosaurs, and took so many photos once I saw them. Overall it was a great day spending time with my college friends and getting to walk around the city of Toronto, making memories and taking photos.
A few weeks ago, me some close friends did a photoshoot inside of a church! This was for an indoor flash assignment, but it was a lot of fun to shoot! The church was completely empty and abandoned so we pretty much got to take pictures wherever we wanted without any issues. The stain glass windows were super colourful and super pretty, so they made for the perfect background. I would love to shoot more photos inside of a church again down the road for sure. More pictures will be coming up soon, but here is a sneak peek of what to expect in the near future!
This summer my family and I went to the African Lion Safari. It was great, and a good opportunity to take photos of animals! This ostrich-like bird, I don’t even know what it was, stuck its head in through our car window and everyone was screaming and peanuts were being like thrown around everywhere. But other than that it was a lot of fun! The animals were so cute to look at and I even got a picture of my sister and niece riding an elephant (accompanied by a complete stranger), and overall it was a great day taking pictures with the family.
This summer, I had the privilege of finally travelling to New York after years and years of wanting to go. Not only was this the perfect opportunity to travel, but it was also an opportunity to take lots of photographs and collect photos of the city. I started off in Manhattan and worked my way around the state, jumping around from Brooklyn to Queens, even Coney Island! I had so much fun on this trip taking photographs and seeing iconic structures that I’ve only seen in movies and TV shows. I nearly fainted when I saw Times Square with my own eyes! I couldn’t believe it was a real place. In conclusion, 10/10, would definitely recommend, and would definitely go back.
